The year '63 was the last time Leo Fender made a decision for the products and was one of the most important in their whole story. Based on experience and most consistent within the entire production period. Coils wound with Heavy formwar wire with Alnico 5 magnets with a small bevel. Staggered as in early time but wound warmer than pickups from ‘50s.
And this is what this set does unique.
The ’63 STRAT set is universal and dynamic. Thanks to the greater output power, you can use this set in many ways and various musical genres. It sounds bright with high string separation. The high tones sound beautiful, the midrange is rounded, the lower sounds range is full and controlled.
All this means that ’63 STRAT sounds unique and this is a faithful copy of the coils from the beginning of the ‘60s.
Mayall, SRV, Clapton, Knopfler, Beck are the best example of the sound of these coils.
This set has a waxed outer layer of coils, such as all vintage Fender pickups. The center of the coil is not waxed to obtain pure, crystal sound and high dynamics.
We achieve this thanks to the method that includes waxing at a certain temperature for a certain time.
If you prefer completely waxed coils add "Wax Potted" to the "Add a Note" at checkout.
