VINTAGE '54 STRAT is a set that is modeled on pickups from the beginning of the Stratocaster era, which has revolutionized music. Medium-output ALNICO 3 magnets used at that time meant that the sound became full and warm. The bottom end sounds deep and the middle range is very wide and clean. They have a characteristic natural sustain. This is all faithfully put into the VINTAGE '54 STRAT set. Scatterwound by hand with a 42 AWG Heavy formvar wire correct for that period.
 
The hand beveled and staggered magnets are mounted on a black fibreboard and covered with varnish as it was done from the early period of production. This protects the surfaces for many years of use.
 
As in the originals, a steel baseplate is mounted in the bridge position. This protects against external interference and shapes the magnetic fields so the sound is full and rounded but without losing high frequencies.
 
This set has a waxed outer layer of coils, such as all vintage Fender pickups.
The center of the coil is not waxed to obtain pure, crystal sound and high dynamics.
