In the beginning of the 1960s Gibson introduced several changes in his PAF. Short Alnico 5 magnets appeared and most humbackers had balanced coils wound with a little higher resistance. Alnico 5 magnets gave the humbackers higher output power a sharper,  well -breaking sound. THE S.T.W. is a PAF set modeled exactly on humbackers from those years. The sound of the lower range is deep but well controlled. The upper range is undercut and dynamic which sounds aggressive. THE S.T.W. will be perfect for all genres of music and fills best in higher GAIN settings. Blues, Rock, Punk,  Hard rock and even early years of ClassicMetal are their best styles of music. 
 
This set is unpotted like Vintage PAFs for clarity and dynamics. If you want them waxed add "Wax Potted" to the "Add a Note" at checkout.
